What Is a Caster?

Casters are a single, double or a compound wheel that is designed to be mounted to the bottom of larger applications/objects. This gives the application/objects an easy way to move around. There are very many different sizes with thousands of different options. The material the wheels are made of are commonly polyurethane casters, polyolefin casters, steel casters, rubber casters, ect. Casters can be used for personal use or smaller applications all the way up to industrial use also known as medium to heavy duty applications. How much weight capacity is a h2 indicator of what wheel you should choose from. The bigger the wheel the more it can handle. Light duty applications might include shopping carts, office chairs, and material handling equipment. Meanwhile high capacity applications might include platform trucks, carts, assemblies, tow lines in plants. You can choose any caster that will fit to any type of environment smooth or rough, wet or dry, hot or cold.
